I didn’t know that a film that started as a one-page script would have an enormous response from my classmates and friends. I’m happy to see Unusual Places, come together with an all female cast, shot on the Sony F65 camera, with a crew of  over 30 people. This was my first experience creating a film on this scale.

I’m gratified with the outcome of the film and with my job as a director. My actresses were easy and fun to work with, and I appreciated having created a film that called for many of my key positions to be filled by women; we need more women filmmakers. Everyone I worked with was enthusiastic about working on a story that required you to have an open mind to a story that captures the innocence of a little girl’s creativity, and a sense of humor to the unimaginable situations that can happen when raising a curious child.   We all worked hard to complete this film, to bring joy to an audience, and I hope this film reaches the success it deserves.

Blessings,
